The Destiny’s Bounty 70618 is a highly detailed model from the LEGO Ninjago movie. Destiny’s Bounty features 3 modular levels – top deck, Wu’s dojo, and mid-deck/hull. The ship contains amazing details such as a double-headed dragon figurehead, 3 decorated sails, a chain of lanterns, 2 wind-up-and-release anchors, plus hidden weapons under the deck. It includes 7 minifigures: Wu, Kai, Lloyd, Zane, Nya, Jay, and Cole. This set also includes tons of weapons and accessories for the minfigures.
Destiny’s Bounty has 2295 pieces and measures over 17″ (45cm) high × 21″ (55cm) long × 6″ (17cm) wide.
Will 70618 Ninjago Destiny’s Bounty retire this year?
The Ninjago sets generally had about 1 to 1.5-year lifespans, like 70627 Dragon’s Forge, 70751 Temple of Airjitzu, and 70594 The Lighthouse Siege. With very few exceptions, for example – 9446 Destiny’s Bounty (2 years).
LEGO released The 70618 Ninjago Destiny’s Bounty on Aug 2017, about one year and nine months in the market. Its lifespan is already longer than the average lifespan of this series. In LEGO Store Australia online, they have marked this set and the 70620 Ninjago City as “Temporary Out of Stock”. So LEGO is maybe doing “the dance” before they retire those sets. Usually, when LEGO retires sets in one region, other regions will follow, and the US market is no exception. So this is a high possibility that LEGO will retire it in the US market this year. Therefore, if you are still haven’t bought this set yet, don’t wait anymore! Buy it now before it is too late.
